Nigerian woman is accused of being a major organizer in a network which
trafficked young women, mainly teenagers from remote parts of Nigeria
before selling into prostitution in Europe, a court heard on Tuesday, July
5.
Franca Asemota, 38, from Benin City, Edo State allegedly used witchcraft to
round up and terrify the teenagers before selling them into prostitution in
Europe, a court heard.

Oscar Pistorius will not appeal his 6 years murder sentence - Lawyer
Oscar Pistorius will not appeal his six-year jail sentence for the murder
of Reeva Steenkamp, a member of his legal team said outside the High Court
in Pretoria on Wednesday.
"We respect the decision of Judge Masipa and are not lodging an application
for leave to appeal. Oscar will serve his sentence as handed down," Defense
lawyer Andrew Fawcett told reporters.

on Monday, June 27, sentenced to life in prison without parole for killing
the newborn by throwing her in the trash.
Emile Weaver, 21, of Clarington was found guilty by a jury last month of
aggravated murder, abuse of a corpse, and tampering with evidence.
Prosecutors said Weaver gave birth in a bathroom at the Delta Gamma Theta
sorority at Muskingum University on April 22, 2015, then purposefully
caused the death of her baby.

Minna, Niger State. A woman named Bara'atu (pictured) who is the step

Officials of Federal Road Safety Corps have cleared the wreckage of the
tanker that exploded in an accident that occurred on Tuesday at the
Kara-Ibafo, KM21 of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. A tanker said to belong to
Total Oil Nigeria Plc was heading to Oyo state when it collided with a
large sized stone on the expressway and skidded off its track.
Five vehicles including the fuel tanker were caught up in the explosion
